Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenous Reconciliation - Foundations and Reflections (2026)

I inherited a number of asychronous online courses when I started with the Continuing Professional Development Office, which included an ‘Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenous Reconciliation: Foundations and Reflections’ course.

Originally developed in 2021, the course hadn’t been updated since and feedback indicated people were having difficulty understanding what they needed to do.

The original design presented the course to the user as a single wall of content items. By adding content descriptions and expanding visual elements, the redesign aimed to allow people to understand what they should do “at a glance”. In addition, the course is now broken down into individual nagigable modules.

I started implementing the redesign in May of 2026 and relaunched the course the following June.
